Album: Iron Front
Release Date: October 6th
You gotta love this band, you just gotta. Bands that can be successful across genres and do it without selling out are few and far between. Strike Anywhere’s 4th studio album is just one more reason why this band is as popular as they are.
Categorically speaking, Strike Anywhere falls somewhere between punk, hardcore and indie. Lead singer Thomas Barnett has a trademark ability to go from melody to scream in one breath. Musically, the band perfectly blends intricate riffs with flat out harshness. As if the aural enticement wasn’t enough, Strike Anywhere is known for being a band with a vision; every song has political or social undertones that aim to inspire change for the better. Unique, badass and purposeful, this is good stuff right here.
Iron Front is the band’s first effort with Bridge Nine Records, a predominantly hardcore label. Previously, Strike Anywhere has released music with Fat Wreck (a punk label) and Jade Tree (an indie label). These guys are all over the place, and so is their music.
